| The project involved the demolition
of an entire residential quarter consisting of 15
buildings, containing over 200 council homes and a school,
for a total volume of 100,000 cubic metres. The location,
Ilot St Vincent de Paul, a quarter in the centre of the French
city of Béziers, near to buildings of historic
value (les Ecole de le Maddalene) and new
buildings in steel and glass.
This important and rather interesting project abroad required
substantial technical, logistics and organisational activities.
The demolition work was carried out using a tracked excavator
with a 30 m long boom fitted with a hydraulic grabber (2 ton
multiutilty), tracked excavator with hydraulic grabber and/or
hydraulic crusher and a tracked excavator fitted with a sorter
and/or loading bucket.
The purely demolition work was only carried out following
the careful removal of asbestos cement items
present inside the buildings in order to prevent unnecessary
environmental pollution.
