Vitali S.p.A. has completed and important road works project in Brianza in record time. The project consisted of a new roundabout with underpass on the regional road S.R. 342. The S.R.342, ex Briantea, is the main inter-provincial road running east-west (Bergamo/Como/Varese). At Calco (LC), the S.R. 342 branches off towards Milan. The road is heavily trafficked with a high percentage of heavy vehicles which, during the rush hour, often create traffic jams.

The construction of the roundabout will allow the traffic to run more freely and reduce the number of bottlenecks, thus also increasing safety.

The stretches of road leading onto the roundabout follow the lines of the existing carriageway. The modifications made, which affect most of all the area between via Italia and via Nazionale, have substantially improved the transition curves and general viability. In addition, in order to improve pedestrian traffic, an underpass has been built on via Nazionale – SP 342.

A little over twenty days work with minimum disruption to normal traffic, thanks to the use of technologically advanced plant and skilled professional staff.
