The project to widen
the A4 motorway includes the addition of a new road platform,
(4th lane) along the entire stretch between
the tollgates at Sesto San Giovanni and Bergamo, for a total
distance of approximately 50 km.
Site works will be divided into four operational phases. Currently
there are 11 bridges over the motorway, 9 of which are
to be demolished and rebuilt in situ, while 2 are to
be replaced with cycle-pedestrian bridges, complete with access
ramps and lifts.
Vitali S.p.A. men and means will be employed
in the realisation of Phase II between the junctions of Trezzo
sull’Adda and Agrate.
