A4
Milan-Bergamo motorway
The
A4 Milan – Bergamo motorway project
includes the widening of the road platform
for a total distance of 9 km and 400
m.
The work starts to the east of the Brianza
service area and terminates at approximately
1 km east of the new motorway tollgate at
Trezzo.
Currently there are 11 bridges
over the motorway, 7 of which are to be demolished
and rebuilt in situ, while 2 are
to be replaced with cycle-pedestrian bridges,
complete with access ramps and lifts. The
construction of two new overbridges is also
envisaged. Currently, the ramps near to the
Trezzo exit are nearing completion, as are
the new road links to the secondary road network
adjacent to the motorway widening works.

The new bypass was completed in December 2005 and eases the flow of traffic, above all for heavy vehicles which now do not need to pass through the town centre in order to reach the two outlying villages.
The final phase includes the construction of a roundabout on Via Milano (ex s.s 342).
